Helldivers 2 Review Bombed, Sony’s PSN Sparks Controversy!
On Friday of may 3rd, 2024 recent announcement by Sony Interactive Entertainment on Helldivers 2’s Community Hub on Steam sparked an uproar within the game’s community. According to the post, starting from 6th of may will require players to connect their steam account to PSN (PlayStation Network” account. And will be expected to become mandatory from may 30th
The reason behind this policy was
to protect players from potential grieving and abuse that might happen while
playing and allow the players the right to appeal. While linking your Steam
account with PSN was initially supposed to be optional, now it has become mandatory,
making players frustrated.
Contradictions occur within the
statement through the PlayStation website, although it is listed as optional for
Sony Games on PC, contradictions are discovered between information on Sony’s support
and store pages, which leads to confusion.
Not only that, the sudden
requirement of a PSN account triggered worldwide disappointment, because, unlike
Steam which provides to almost every country in the world, PSN only supports
around 69 countries, making people who bought the game but not in the listed
country won’t be able to enjoy the game anymore.
